People Spotlight – Dana Singer

Welcome to our new head of people.

In our latest Portico People Blog Series, we spoke with Dana Singer, our new head of people at Portico.

Q: Tell us about your new role?

The Head of People plays a significant role in building the people strategy and in pushing the business forward by developing and championing the culture, as well as ensuring people practices, policies and procedures are fit for purpose, up-to-date, inclusive, and are also communicated and embedded throughout the company.

Q: What is your ambition for People team for Portico?

I would like to reignite a passion in People/HR as a career choice and showcase the development path available for our team. I would like us to be less reactive and transactional as a function, so we can adapt to change quicker, better and use technology more efficiently. My ambition is to be a driving force for the business; and not being afraid to question and challenge because that is the only way we will continue to evolve.

Q: What makes a Portico person stand out?

The love and pride they put into the service they provide. The kindness and empathy towards one another and their teams and of course, collaboration.

Q: What is your ambition for the company?

To be recognised as the Best Place to Work for in the UK and enter the Inspiring Workplace award. To grow exponentially without losing its essence, people, and quality standards. To stand out from the competition through breakthrough benefits, diverse talent, inclusive culture, and exceptional service delivery.

Q: What is your immediate plan and what are your deliverables for the first 3 months?

Finalise the people strategy for the next two years. Revamp the onboarding process ensuring it flows smoothly from pre-boarding to off boarding and the employee experience is memorable and positive. And relaunch the service awards which was previously known as loyalty scheme.
