At Portico, we have marked another year of phenomenal growth and innovation, with over 1000 dedicated Portico People providing top-notch guest services to more than 200 buildings. Our reach now extends beyond London to 30 regional locations, solidifying our position as a leader in the industry. As we reflect on the past year, it’s clear that we have much to celebrate, and the future looks even bigger.
This year, Portico welcomed 400 new members to our dynamic teams, each contributing unique talents and energy to our already thriving community. We have also gone further in recognising and honouring the commitment of our longest-serving employees, in launching the Portico Long Service Awards, celebrating an impressive combined 275 years of dedicated service. A special shoutout to Hanna Barrett, who has been a driving force at Portico for an astounding 16 years!
At Portico, education has always been one of our main focuses as an organisation, and this year has seen even more emphasis placed on the learning and development of our teams in hosting an amazing 600 courses and engaging over 1200 participants from all corners of the business. This commitment to continuous growth and progress is at the core of our culture, and we look forward to the expansion of our L&D offerings and curriculum in 2024.
Portico also achieved some significant milestones this year, becoming an ILM-approved centre certified to deliver leadership, management, and coaching qualifications.
We’ve also been thrilled to receive significant industry recognition this year, including winning the PFM Partners in Corporate award at 22 Bishopsgate, and being shortlisted for the UK Business Awards at 20 Fenchurch Street.
In 2023, we added significant highlights to the Portico calendar by introducing two thought-leadership events with our panel discussion series Portico and Friends. These events served as a dynamic platform, bringing together more than 90 industry colleagues and clients for insightful discussions on crucial subjects in the industry, such as the evolving landscape of the workplace, the return to the office, and new technology versus the human touch in guest services delivery. These events engaged not only an important exchange of ideas but are propelling Portico further into the forefront of industry conversations.
But our social events didn’t stop there. During the summer months, over 300 Portico People participated in our team-building Summer Socials across London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, and Edinburgh – the perfect mid-year opportunities for our People to reconnect, relax and share some memorable moments. We played minigolf, made cocktails, ate pizza, and had a great time at Hyde Park in August bringing together our London-based teams for the second year running.
Just a few weeks ago, we had another brilliant time at our Portico People Awards 2023, recognising our team members’ talent and hard work across 13 categories highlighting teamwork, personal development, community contributions, and sustainability. Congratulations once more to the fantastic winner of our flagship Heart Award, Ivell Arnold for his unwavering efforts and dedication to his Portico team.
As we come to the end of 2023, these numbers tell our story of success, growth, and a vibrant, supportive, and creative community. Here’s to the tremendous year we’ve had at Portico, and the exciting prospects that 2024 holds!
