We’re proud to have been featured by employee volunteering platform OnHand in a recent case study highlighting the impact of our volunteering and social impact programme.
The case study showcases how, through our ESG strategy, Second Nature, we have transformed volunteering from occasional activities into a structured, purpose-led programme that empowers our people to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.
Embedding purpose into our culture
At Portico, people are at the heart of everything we do. We wanted to build a volunteering programme that was accessible, engaging and aligned to our wider social impact ambitions. Through our partnership with OnHand, we created more opportunities for colleagues to support causes they care about while strengthening wellbeing, engagement and community impact.
Making an impact
The case study highlights several achievements from the programme, including:
- 738 volunteering hours recorded by Portico colleagues in 2024.
- More than 5,500 trees planted through our OnHand forest.
- Over 80 metric tonnes of CO2e reductions through sustainability actions.
- More than 400 new blood and plasma donor registrations through NHS awareness events.
These achievements are a reflection of the passion and commitment of our people, who continue to support communities and causes across the UK.
Recognition for our people
One of the most rewarding aspects of this recognition is that it celebrates the efforts of our colleagues. The case study highlights how volunteering has become embedded in our culture, helping to strengthen team connections, support wellbeing and create positive change both inside and outside the workplace.
