One of the most compelling aspects of guest services is the breadth of opportunity available. It’ not a single job title; it is an ecosystem of roles that together create a curated experience for clients, employees and visitors.
Entry-level positions such as Front of House Ambassador or Welcome Host form the foundation. These professionals are the first and last impression of a building. They combine warmth, precision and digital fluency to deliver personalised service every day. Concierge roles often sit alongside reception positions, particularly in premium or mixed-use environments. In some settings, these roles incorporate security responsibilities, reflecting the increasingly hybrid nature of modern workplaces. Switchboard and Call Services Specialists remain vital. As the voice of an organisation, they manage high volumes of communication while maintaining professionalism and empathy. Meetings and Events Coordinators bring structure and precision to corporate gatherings, managing logistics, catering and communications.
In recent years, floor-based roles have grown significantly. Workplace Coordinators, Floor Ambassadors and Community Hosts operate across working floors rather than behind a desk. They manage meeting room environments, support audio-visual requirements, coordinate hospitality services and drive engagement initiatives. These positions reflect a shift from reactive service delivery to proactive workplace facilitation, as we call it “place-making.” Community Managers go further, curating engagement programmes and building vibrant workplace cultures.
At management level, titles may vary – Guest Services Manager, Front of House Manager, Operations Manager – but the responsibility is consistent: leading teams, safeguarding standards and partnering with clients to deliver service with heart at scale. Steve McQueen, our Talent Acquisition Manager adds:
“Increasingly, roles are hybrid. Reception combined with AV support. Concierge aligned with security. Front of House integrated with hospitality. The modern guest services professional is adaptable, commercially aware and confident working across disciplines. This diversity ensures that individuals can shape careers aligned to their strengths – whether operational excellence, community building, technical expertise or strategic leadership.”
